Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Xi Omicron Lambda chapter (Lee County) announces that it’s 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. UNITY Breakfast will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 beginning at 7:30AM. The 2017 breakfast marks the 10th anniversary of this community-wide event designed to recognize the contributions of Dr. King while also bringing together a diverse guest list from throughout Lee County.
The 2017 breakfast will be held at Harborside Event Center in downtown Ft. Myers in conjunction with support from the City of Ft. Myers. During the breakfast, four Lee County residents will be recognized for their contributions to building a better community with the “Guardian of the Dream” award – John Tobler (Tobler Construction) & Michele Hylton-Terry (Community Redevelopment Agency) – joint public and private collaboration efforts to restore McCullum Hall, Tamara Hunter – Franklin Park Elementary School and Pastor Matt Keller – Next Level Church.
