Description

Ismael Hernandez is the founder and Executive Director of the Freedom & Virtue Institute. Ismael grew up in a communist household and joined the Socialist Party of Puerto Rico. Eventually, he surrendered Marxism and embraced free markets. He has an MA in Political Science and served for 15 years in inner-city Catholic ministry in SW Florida.

In 2016, Ismael wrote his first book, Not Tragically Colored: Freedom, Personhood, and the Renewal of Black America—published by the Acton Institute. Ismael Hernandez currently lives in Fort Myers with his wife and three children.

Join Ismael Hernandez and learn the seven principles of effective compassion. With his presentation “Hope for the Inner City”,  you can adopt and learn a new narrative of human flourishing instead of poverty alleviation. Offering assets-based solutions, utilizing faithful witnesses instead of hired hands or “saviors”.  Often, the poor don’t need to be told how to fish, they just need you to get out of their way to the pond! Let us show you how to empower them.

Free admission, join the conversation.
