“Personal independence is a virtue and it is the soul out of which comes the sturdiest manhood. But there can be no independence without a large share of self-dependence, and this virtue cannot be bestowed. It must be developed from within.”
– Frederick Douglass
Programs
The Freedom & Virtue Institute holds firmly to this belief. Dedicated to individual freedom, self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and virtuous living—principles that strengthen the fight against dependency on government welfare—FVI champions these ideas through education and training programs, and the creation of simple, meaningful, and practical projects.
Our work highlights the limited role of government in society by promoting economic independence and the importance of basic communities, such as family, church, volunteer associations, and the business community, in building a free and virtuous society.
The Freedom & Virtue Institute conducts a number of initiatives characterized by simplicity, practicality, significance, and replicability. Our three main programs are Self-Reliance Clubs, Effective Compassionate Training, and Commonality Training.
FVI accepts no government funds and relies exclusively on the generosity of those who believe in our cause. The Freedom & Virtue Institute is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are fully tax deductible to the extent allowable by law #20-2927564.
